We may have a pretty complete idea of what to expect from the next versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 with about a month remaining until the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. Before the phones’ official unveiling, a number of leaks over the past few days have revealed a lot about how they might look and what’s inside.
According to 9to5Google, a photo of a folded phone that appears to be the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in a blocky, black case was posted on Twitter on July 25 by Revegnus (via 9to5Google). A lot of the design is hidden by the case, but what you can see supports previous alleged renders. For instance, it’s possible that the cover screen on the back will be the same 3.4-inch 720 x 748 display that has been anticipated. Another rumored design update can also be seen in the side-by-side camera lenses.
The phone appears to fold flat, but with the case on, it’s hard to say for sure. In any case, that could mean Samsung might utilize new drop style collapsing procedure’s been reputed for the Cosmic system Z Crease 5 also, which the regularly dependable insider Ice Universe has shown previously.
A bead style overlap has been involved currently in contenders’ telephones like the Oppo Find N2 and it ought to lessen the noticeable wrinkle where the telephones crease — something that has tormented collapsing telephones since their commencement.
Next, on Monday, the prolific leaker SnoopyTech set people on a little scavenger hunt that led to sets of leaked renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 in a variety of colors. The first clue was a binary-coded tweet. In the translation, it referred readers to Pastebin for additional clues and, ultimately, renders and specifications. The gallery below contains some of my renders:
The colors are listed as Cream in the SnoopyTech spec sheet, which is also included in the crumb trail; Graphite; Mint; and Icy Blue and lavender for the Z Flip 5; Cream; and the Z Fold 5’s Phantom Black
A smaller frame for both phones and improved Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPUs are additional enhancements to Samsung’s foldables. This partially confirms a rumor that the Z Fold 5’s depth would be reduced in April. Other changes include new color schemes and obvious design adjustments.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a thickness of 13.4 mm, down from 14.2 mm, which is the thinnest point of a folded Galaxy Z Fold 4. The Z Flip 5 will also thin out, measuring 15.1 mm when folded, compared to 15.9 mm at its thinnest point when the Z Flip 4 is folded. The System Z Crease 5 may likewise lose some weight, dropping 10 grams from last year’s model. Last but not least, the leak suggests that the Fold 5’s camera array contains a telephoto lens with 12 megapixels—other leaks have previously stated that the Fold 4’s telephoto had 10 megapixels.
There are two remarkable unlucky deficiencies in SnoopyTech’s hole: neither phone has a model with 128GB or 1TB of storage. While that doesn’t mean we won’t see those capacity levels in the last telephones, it merits paying special attention to the following month. Aside from that, nothing else stood out in SnoopyTech’s listed specs; the specifications for RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity, battery life, and other features all point to internals that have largely remained the same.
